In 2015, Sam brought home 23 weaners from market to fatten to sell for meat. However when the time came, Charlotte persuaded him to only sell 22 of them. She had grown rather attached to one of the females, who she named Beatrix Trotter (pictured above).

Beatrix Trotter was allowed to stay and since then she has become a firm favourite on the farm and loves nothing more than being scratched on her back and behind her ears.

We have kept 2 of Beatrix's daughters, Ginny and Hermione, and the 3 of them are our breeding sows.

The pigs farrow in a pen full of straw inside so that we can keep an eye on them and help where needed. Once their piglets are strong enough, they head outside with their mothers to explore our grass paddocks.

Once weaned from their mothers, the pigs forage in the fields and hedge rows routinely digging to find their food. We do not rush the pigs' growths, but allow them to naturally mature which we feel helps to develop a better flavour of pork.

All our pork is born, raised, hung and butchered on the farm

We sell our Pork all year round from the freezer. Alternatively, you can pre-order our fresh meat for pre-arranged delivery.
